Erzen Zyberaj –
Kosovo’s Champion of Endurance and Spirit

My name is Erzen Zyberaj, and I am proud to be recognized as the undisputed champion of mountain running and ultramarathons in Kosovo. But my story didn’t begin on the trails or the mountain peaks—it began on the football field. Up until 2020, I was fully immersed in the world of football. Then came the global pandemic, a moment that disrupted lives and routines across the world. Like many others, I faced uncertainty. Yet, from that disruption came clarity. It was during this time of pause and reflection that I discovered a new path—one that would take me further than I ever imagined, both physically and mentally.
With a deep love for nature and a desire to transform myself, I took my first steps into long-distance running. What began as a personal journey of exploration quickly became a passion. Day after day, run after run, I found not only strength in my legs, but strength in my mind and spirit. Running soon became more than a sport—it became an inseparable part of who I am. Every mile taught me that we, as human beings, are capable of far more than we often allow ourselves to believe.
Through dedication, discipline, and relentless training, I’ve not only pushed my own limits but also helped change perceptions of endurance running in Kosovo. My progress and achievements began to inspire others, especially the youth. With every race I conquered, my mission grew clearer: to show people that greatness comes from perseverance, and that success is built step by step, stride by stride.
Today, I hold the record in every major mountain and ultramarathon race in Kosovo. I have represented my country with pride in international ultramarathon competitions, standing shoulder to shoulder with the world’s best. I’ve been honored to win many international titles and medals, each one a testament not only to my efforts, but to the potential that lies within every determined individual.
But beyond the medals and records, my greatest accomplishment is the influence I have on the next generation. I see myself not just as an athlete, but as a mentor and role model. I want young people to see that dreams are not just meant to be admired—they are meant to be pursued. Through my journey, I hope to send a clear message: success is not a stroke of luck, but the result of passion, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in oneself.
As I continue my journey on the trails, across the mountains, and through the ultra-distances of the world, I carry with me the flag of Kosovo, the spirit of perseverance, and a voice that says: You are stronger than you think.
